Free downloaders exist because ad networks pay them. The trade-off is your attention, your tracking data, and a support surface capped at whatever brought in enough clicks last month. Video Cyborg starts at €1 for a day — and covers 1,400+ sites with custom adapters for the ones ad-funded tools skip. No pop-ups, no scripts, no downgraded quality to push you toward a “premium” tier. See full pricing details before you choose a pass.
Why we're paid, not ad-supported
Most free downloaders are not charities. They are traffic businesses. A page that promises an instant video download can earn money by stacking ad networks, redirect offers, analytics pixels, push-notification prompts, and installer bundles around the button you actually wanted to click. Some are harmlessly annoying. Others turn the download flow into a guessing game where the real file sits beside fake buttons, sponsored browser add-ons, or “recommended” desktop utilities.
Browser-extension downloaders add another layer of trust risk. To work across many websites, an extension often needs broad site access or host permissions. Chrome documents this as a permission model where extensions declare what sites, APIs, and browser capabilities they can touch; that is powerful by design, but it is a poor fit for a one-off download. Video Cyborg runs server-side instead, so you do not need to install an extension that asks for broad browser permissions just to save a file.
Our model is simpler: the people using the tool pay for the tool. That pays for extraction maintenance, bandwidth, virus scanning, support, and the unglamorous work of keeping niche-site adapters alive when platforms change their players. It also removes the incentive to slow you down with ad loops or collect behavioral data because an advertiser wants a profile.
That changes how we make product decisions. A page funded by impressions is rewarded for more screens, more reloads, and more distractions before the download completes. A paid utility is rewarded when it works quickly enough that you come back next time. That is why the interface stays quiet, why the download page is not wrapped in ad slots, and why support can focus on broken adapters instead of explaining which button was the real one.
The €1 day pass is deliberately small and non-committal. If you only need one afternoon of downloads, use 24 hours of unlimited access and leave. There is no subscription trap and no automatic renewal. If you download often, the yearly and lifetime passes are there; if not, the day pass is the anti-subscription option. Compare the passes above and pick the least you actually need.
1,400+ sites — the ones other tools skip
Most tools that say “any website” mean the top 20. Ours is literal: if a video streams over HTTP, HLS, DASH, or peer-to-peer (P2P) streaming, we have a path to it — custom adapters for every video hosting service and site type we support, including the ones other downloaders skip.

How to download a video from any website
Most downloaders cover the top twenty sites and give up after that. Here is the whole process for any website — including the ones that answer “URL not supported” everywhere else.
- 1 Copy the page URL Open the video in your browser and copy the address bar — the page URL, not a right-click “save video as”. That page is where the real file lives.
- 2 Paste it into Video Cyborg Paste the link and press download. Our server loads the page the way a browser would, finds the underlying stream and pulls the original file.
- 3 Download the MP4 You get one MP4 at the best resolution the source offers, up to 4K — no screen recording, no re-encode, no watermark stamped on top.
What if the site is not on the list?
Paste it anyway. The 1,400+ list names the sites with hand-built adapters, but a generic extractor runs behind it: if a video streams over HTTP, HLS or DASH, it usually works.
Niche and age-restricted sites
Community sites such as Rule34Video, SizeTube and MyVidster use players that stop mainstream tools cold. Each has a dedicated adapter here, so pasting a link works exactly as it does on YouTube.
Not sure yours is covered? Paste the URL and find out — if we can reach the page, we can usually reach the file.

How it actually works
Video downloaders fail for boring technical reasons, not because the user pasted the wrong URL. Many video pages do not expose a plain MP4 link in the HTML. They load manifests, tokenized segments, signed URLs, geo-specific player data, or separate audio and video streams. Browser extensions try to observe that traffic from inside your browser, but they run into CORS rules, hotlink protection, short-lived signatures, and permission prompts that differ between Chrome, Safari, Firefox, iOS, and Android.
Video Cyborg moves that extraction work to AppsCyborg servers. The server fetches the page, identifies the player or manifest pattern, follows the media references, and prepares the downloadable file or stream choices for your browser. That is why the same pasted URL can work from a phone, tablet, or desktop without asking you to install anything. Your device only needs to submit the URL and receive the result.
The 1,400+ site claim is defensible because support is not a single generic scraper. It is an adapter-per-site architecture: large platforms, regional broadcasters, education portals, social clips, cloud hosts, and niche video communities each get the handling they need. When a site changes its player or moves from MP4 to HLS/DASH segments, the adapter can be updated without redesigning the whole product.
Quality selection is also source-aware. Some platforms publish one progressive file; others publish separate audio and video tracks at several resolutions. The extractor keeps those differences hidden until they matter, then presents the choices that can actually be delivered. If the source only has 720p, Video Cyborg will not pretend there is a 4K file. If the source offers 4K, the higher-quality option can be shown without forcing you to inspect manifests or copy network requests.
Format handling follows the same practical approach. When a source offers multiple qualities, Video Cyborg can expose the available choices up to 4K and preserve common output formats such as MP4, WebM, AVI, and 3GP. You do not need to understand any of this to use it: paste the URL, choose the format and quality shown, and download.
Niche sites most downloaders don’t support
Free tools (SaveFrom, SnapWC, Microsoft’s) cover YouTube, TikTok and Instagram — then fall back to “URL not supported.” These are the corners of the web ours handles that theirs don’t:
