Two steps. That's it.

1

Upload your WAVs

One track or 50 at once
Drag in a single file or a whole folder of WAVs — from your phone, tablet or desktop. Both .wav and .wave are accepted, and filenames are kept so a batch stays organised.
2

Download the MP3s

MP3 converted.mp3 192 kbps · no watermark
Conversion runs on our servers, so a phone finishes as fast as a desktop. Grab files one by one, or the whole batch as a ZIP.

Grab it within the hour. Download links expire 60 minutes after conversion. MP3 is compressed, so expect roughly a tenth of the WAV's size — a session folder that would not fit in an email usually will afterwards.

Why a paid converter is the one worth using

Free audio converters pay their server bill with ads, size caps and daily limits — and several of them quietly hand back 128 kbps. WAV to MP3 Cyborg is funded by you, so it works for you.

50 files in one pass

Queue a whole album or session folder instead of uploading tracks one at a time and waiting between each.

Anonymous & private

Unreleased demos stay yours. We don't track who converts what, and files are never handed to third parties.

192 kbps, not 128

One encode at a fixed 192 kbps, the same for every file. No silent downgrade for mono or low-rate recordings, and no volume “enhancement” you didn't ask for.

Free WAV-to-MP3 tools exist because ads pay for them — and they still cap your upload size, throttle you after a couple of files a day, or encode at 128 kbps without telling you. WAV to MP3 Cyborg starts at €1 for a day, installs nothing, takes 50 files at a time at up to 200 MB each, and encodes every one at 192 kbps.

What you gain, and what you give up

Straight answer: MP3 is lossy, so this conversion permanently discards some of the audio to make the file small. At 192 kbps most people cannot hear the difference on most material — and in exchange the file goes almost anywhere a WAV cannot.

Plays on everything

MP3

Car stereos, old phones, cheap players, every browser and every upload form. WAV support is far patchier than people expect once you leave a computer.

Small enough to send

1/10

A five-minute stereo WAV is about 50 MB and bounces off most email limits. The same track as a 192 kbps MP3 is around 7 MB.

Sample rate kept

44.1k

44.1 kHz stays 44.1 kHz and mono stays mono. Only files above 48 kHz are resampled, because MP3 itself cannot carry more.

One encode, never two

Your WAV is decoded once and encoded once. Nothing is passed through a second lossy stage on the way, which is where audible damage usually comes from.

Same bitrate for mono

160k

Many converters quietly drop mono or low-sample-rate recordings to a much lower bitrate. Interviews and voice memos come back at full quality here.

The honest caveat

Keep your WAV masters. MP3 cannot be turned back into the original — converting the MP3 to WAV later gives you a big file that still sounds like the MP3, not like your master.

Need uncompressed audio instead? MP3 to WAV Cyborg goes the other way.

When you need the MP3

WAV is what you record and edit in. MP3 is what you hand to everyone else. Here is where the conversion earns its keep:

W

Emailing or messaging a mix

A WAV rough mix will not fit in most inboxes. A 192 kbps MP3 of the same take usually will.

R

Podcast and platform uploads

Most hosts want MP3, and several re-encode anything else on arrival — better to control that step yourself.

P

Car stereos and old phones

Plenty of head units and budget players read MP3 off a USB stick and simply ignore a WAV.

F

Clearing recorder storage

A field recorder or interview archive shrinks by roughly ten times, which is often the difference between keeping it and deleting it.

T

Sharing rehearsal takes

Nobody in the band needs the uncompressed take on their phone — they need something that downloads over mobile data.

S

Voice memos and interviews

Mono speech recordings compress especially well, and here they keep a proper bitrate rather than being dropped to something tinny.

Whatever it is for, upload your WAVs and get MP3s back.

Different format — or a different job?

Looking for the MP3 downloader rather than a converter? That's MP3 Cyborg. Need uncompressed audio instead? MP3 to WAV. Starting from another format? FLAC to MP3, OGG to MP3 or M4A to MP3. Pulling audio out of a video? Extract Audio — all included in one account.

Common questions

Getting started

What is WAV to MP3 Cyborg?
A web app that turns WAV files into 192 kbps MP3s. Upload up to 50 tracks and download files roughly a tenth the size that play on phones, car stereos, browsers and upload forms — nothing to install.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. It works on all Android phones, and on iOS 12 and higher. Conversion happens on our servers, so a phone finishes as fast as a desktop — you only need a browser.
What bitrate do I get?
192 kbps, on every file. That is a genuine step above the 128 kbps a lot of free converters hand back, and for most listeners on most material it is hard to tell from the source. There is no setting to get wrong, and no quiet downgrade for mono or low-sample-rate recordings.

Quality, size & batches

Will I lose quality?
Some, yes — MP3 is lossy and no honest tool can claim otherwise. The encoder permanently discards audio it judges you will not hear, which is exactly how the file gets ten times smaller. At 192 kbps that trade is inaudible to most people on most material, but it is a trade, and it cannot be undone afterwards.
How much smaller will the file be?
Roughly a tenth. Stereo CD-quality WAV runs about 10 MB per minute; at 192 kbps the MP3 is about 1.4 MB per minute. A five-minute track goes from around 50 MB to around 7 MB.
How many files can I convert at once?
Up to 50 per batch. Filenames are preserved, and you can download the results individually or as a single ZIP.
Is there a file size limit?
200 MB per file — about 19 minutes of stereo CD-quality WAV, or several hours of a mono voice recording. If a long session runs past that, split it before uploading.
What happens to 24-bit or 96 kHz files?
They convert fine, with two unavoidable changes. MP3 is always 16-bit equivalent, so 24-bit depth is not carried across, and anything above 48 kHz is resampled down because MPEG-1 Layer III cannot store a higher rate. 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz files keep their rate exactly.
Can I convert formats other than WAV to MP3?
Not with this tool — it takes .wav and .wave files only. For other sources use FLAC to MP3, OGG to MP3 or M4A to MP3, and to pull the audio out of a video use Extract Audio.
Should I delete the WAV afterwards?
Keep it if you might edit the audio again. The MP3 is for sending and playing; the WAV is your master, and once it is gone the detail the encoder discarded is gone with it. If you are only ever going to listen, the MP3 is enough.

Pricing, privacy & limits

How much does it cost?
A €1 day pass gives you 24 hours of unlimited conversions. Yearly (€6) and lifetime (€30) plans are also available (+ VAT). Every plan unlocks all 79 AppsCyborg tools, not just this one.
How long does my download link stay valid?
60 minutes. After that the link expires and the converted files are removed — just re-run the conversion if you need them again.
Do you track or keep my files?
No. We don't run ad or analytics tracking on what you convert, and your files are never sold or shared for marketing. Uploaded audio is processed only to build your MP3s and is removed once the 60-minute download window closes.
Is there a limit on how often I can convert?
No. While your day pass, yearly or lifetime plan is active you can run as many 50-file batches as you like — there is no monthly quota and no per-conversion charge.
Still have a question?
We usually reply within a day.
