What is PDF to JPG Cyborg?

A web app that renders every page of your PDF as a JPG image. Drop the file in, and you get back one JPG per page — numbered in document order, packed into a single ZIP. Bear in mind you’ll get a ZIP back, so you need a file manager that can unpack it.

JPG or PNG — which should I pick?

JPG for pages that are mostly photos or that need to be small — posts, listings, email. PNG for pages that are mostly text, line art, charts or logos, where you want edges perfectly crisp and transparency kept: that’s PDF to PNG Cyborg.

How big are the images?

About 1240×1750 pixels for an A4 page, which is roughly 150 dpi — sharp on a retina screen and fine for everyday printing, though not press-ready. Every page comes out at the same scale, so a deck stays consistent. If they’re heavier than you need for the web or email, run them through PDF to PNG Cyborg.

Using it

Can I convert just one page?

The tool converts the whole document, then you keep the page you wanted — the files are numbered, so finding it takes a second. There’s no page limit and no extra charge for a long document.

Does it pull out the photos inside the PDF?

No — this renders each page as a picture, text, layout, headers and all. If you want the individual photos that were placed inside the file, at their original size and without the surrounding page, use Extract Image PDF Cyborg.

Will the text still be selectable?

No — a JPG is a flat picture, so the text becomes pixels. That’s exactly what you want for read-only sharing, and exactly what you don’t want if you need to edit or search it. To get the text out of a PDF as text, use Extract Text PDF Cyborg.

What about password-protected PDFs?

An encrypted file can’t be rendered, so remove the password first in the app you already open it with, then upload the unlocked copy. We don’t attempt to open protected documents. If you only need the text rather than the pages, try Extract Image PDF Cyborg.

How long does it take?

Usually well under a minute — most of the wait is the upload itself, so a large scanned document takes longer to send than to convert. Keep the tab open until the download button appears.

When does the download link expire?
