MIRRORED TOP–BOTTOM · SOUND UNTOUCHED · NO WATERMARK

The camera was mounted upside down.

Ceiling brackets, helmet mounts, dashboard clips, microscope and telescope rigs — plenty of cameras end up recording the world the wrong way up. Upload the clip and it comes back flipped top to bottom, sound untouched.

Two steps. That's it.

1

Upload the video

MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV, WebM & more · up to 50 files
Nothing to set. One operation, no options, no timeline to learn first.
2

Download the right way up

ceiling-cam-0412-flipped.mov Same length · audio in sync
Same resolution, same frame rate, same duration — and the sound is copied across, not re-encoded.

If the footage looks fully upside down, you need two flips. A camera physically turned over produces a 180° rotation, which is a vertical mirror and a horizontal one. Flip it here, then run the result through Flip Horizontal Video Cyborg — either order works, and both are covered by the same pass. Checked rather than assumed: the two passes together match a true one-pass 180° rotation, with only the extra generation of compression between them. Use this tool on its own when the picture is vertically mirrored but not turned around — an optical rig, a reflection, a screen that flips its own output. If a player then struggles with the result, Video to MP4 Cyborg gives you the most widely playable file, in the same account as everything else. Your download link stays live for 60 minutes.

Which flip do you actually need?

Three problems get confused with each other constantly. This table is the quickest way to tell which one you have — the giveaway is what the text in the shot does.

What you're seeing What it is What fixes it
Sky at the bottom, text mirrored downwards A vertical mirror This tool
Whole picture turned over, text readable but inverted A 180° rotation This tool + horizontal flip
Text runs backwards left to right A horizontal mirror Flip Horizontal Cyborg
Filmed sideways — portrait shown as landscape A 90° rotation Neither — a rotation, not a flip

Why use this rather than an editor?

A video editor does this in two clicks, and if one is already installed you should use it. This exists for the clip that arrives wrong on a machine you can't install software on, or from a phone app that would hand it back watermarked and downscaled.

One job, no timeline

No project to create, no export settings to pick, no render queue to sit through.

Sound left alone

The audio track is stream-copied, not re-encoded — the same bytes come out the other side, still in sync.

Your footage stays yours

Nothing kept, published or used to train anything. Files go when the 60-minute link expires.

Try it for €1

A 24-hour day pass costs €1 — and covers both flips if your clip needs the pair.

It flips and nothing else — no trimming, captions or colour — and large files spend most of their time uploading, which is the honest cost of doing it in a browser. All of it covered by the same €1 that got you in.

Ceiling & wall mounts

Security and workshop cameras fitted inverted because that's where the bracket went.

Action & helmet cams

Under-bar, under-wing and chin mounts, where upside down was the only way it would fit.

Microscopes & telescopes

Optical paths that invert the image before it ever reaches the sensor.

Reflections & teleprompters

Anything filmed through a beam splitter or off a mirrored surface comes back flipped.

Drone & gimbal footage

Under-slung rigs and gimbals that occasionally deliver a clip the wrong way up.

A deliberate effect

Water-reflection shots and inverted-world sequences, where flipping is the whole idea.

Whatever it's for, upload the clip and download the flipped version.

Common questions

Which fix you need

My video is upside down. Is this the right tool?
Half of it. A camera turned over gives you a 180° rotation, which is a vertical flip plus a horizontal one. Flip it here and then run the result through Flip Horizontal Video Cyborg A quick test: if text in the shot is upside down but still reads left to right, you need both. If it's mirrored downwards — the letters flipped but still in order — this tool alone is enough.
Can it rotate footage filmed sideways?
No. A 90° problem needs a rotation, and no combination of flips will produce one — flipping mirrors the picture, it never turns it a quarter turn. That one needs an editor.
What happens to text in the shot?
It mirrors vertically with everything else — the fix when it was already mirrored, and a new problem if it read correctly before. Signs, logos and burned-in captions all follow the picture.

The file you get

Does the audio change?
No, and not merely "it still plays": the audio track is copied across byte for byte rather than re-encoded, so it is the same sound in the same sync. Flipping the picture has nothing to do with the audio track.
Will the quality drop, especially if I do both flips?
Each pass re-encodes the video, so one flip is one generation of compression and doing both is two. Measured on a 720p clip, two generations score 0.994 on a structural similarity scale where 1.0 is identical, and four score 0.990 — not visible in normal viewing. If you're being careful with a master, do the 180° turn in an editor in a single export instead. Resolution, frame rate and length are unchanged either way.
Which formats can I upload?
MP4, MOV, M4V, MKV, AVI, WMV, WebM, FLV, MPG, MPEG, 3GP and GIF. You get the same format back, written into the container it arrived in. If a player struggles with the result, Video to MP4 Cyborg gives you the most universally compatible file.
How long does it take?
Mostly your upload speed and the length of the clip — the flip itself is quick, a ten-second phone video takes under a second on our side. WebM is the slow one: it has to be re-encoded with VP9, which takes roughly ten times as long as the same clip as MP4.
Is my original changed?
No — you get a new file and the original stays where it is. Flipping the result again returns it to how it started, so nothing here is one-way.
When does the download link expire?
After 60 minutes. Save the video as soon as it's ready — after that the link expires and you'd upload again.

Pricing, privacy & rights

Do I pay twice if my clip needs both flips?
No. One pass covers every AppsCyborg tool, so a vertical flip followed by a horizontal one costs the same as either on its own.
How much does it cost?
A €1 day pass gives you 24 hours of unlimited videos. Yearly is €6 and lifetime is €30. All three are one-off payments — nothing renews and nothing bills you next month — and every plan unlocks all 79 AppsCyborg tools.
What happens to my video?
It's used to make the flipped copy and then deleted along with it when the 60-minute link expires. Nothing is kept, watched, indexed or used to train anything, and requests are anonymous — no ads, no trackers. There's no watermark, and the result is yours to publish or sell.
