What to expect. The audio comes out as it sounded in the video — extracting can’t add quality that wasn’t recorded, so a muffled phone clip stays muffled. What is Extract Audio Video Cyborg?

A web app that takes the audio track out of a video file you own and gives it back as an MP3. Drop the video in, download the sound — no watermark, no ads, no length limit.

Which video formats can I upload?

Eleven of them: MP4, MOV, M4V, MKV, WebM, AVI, WMV, FLV, MPG, MPEG and 3GP — which covers whatever your phone records. GIFs are not accepted, because a GIF has no sound track at all.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes — pick the video from your camera roll on Android or on iOS 12 and higher. Nothing to install. Use Wi-Fi for long recordings: the upload is the slow part, not the conversion.

Quality & results

Will the audio lose quality?

If the video’s soundtrack is already an MP3, it is copied out untouched — bit for bit, no re-encoding at all. Everything else is encoded at LAME V2, a variable bitrate that averages around 190 kbps and is the usual benchmark for “you can’t hear the difference”. What extraction can’t do is improve on the recording: if the room echoed or the mic was distant, that’s in the file and it stays there.

Can I get just one part of the video?

Not here — the whole soundtrack is extracted in one go. Trim the MP3 afterwards in any audio app, or cut the video before uploading.

Can it separate the voice from the music?

No. Whatever was mixed together in the video arrives mixed together in the MP3 — background music under a narrator comes across exactly as you hear it. This tool moves the soundtrack, it doesn’t rebuild it.

What if my video has no sound?

Then there’s nothing to extract and the job reports an error rather than handing you an empty file. Screen recordings are the usual culprit — many are captured with the microphone off. Play a few seconds with the volume up before you upload a big file.

When does the download link expire?

After 60 minutes. Save the MP3 as soon as it’s ready — after that the link expires and you’d upload the video again, which for a long recording is the slow part.

Can I extract audio from a video I didn’t make?

Changing the format doesn’t change who owns the recording. Personal use, study and your own archives are usually fine — credit the source, and get permission before publishing or selling the audio. Copy-protected files can’t be processed at all.
