What is Facebook Cyborg?
A web app that saves a public Facebook post as an image. Paste the post's URL and it captures the post as Facebook shows it — the page name, the date, the text, the photo or video, and the reaction counts — as a PNG you can download and use anywhere. Nothing to install.
Can I capture a private post, a group or a Story?
No. Facebook Cyborg only captures what Facebook shows publicly, so friends-only posts, private groups and Stories can't be captured. Public page and profile posts work.
Why is this better than a browser extension?
Three reasons: the tool does one thing, so the framing is right rather than approximate; it works on any device with a browser instead of only the desktop you installed the extension on; and it needs no permission to read the pages you visit.
Which devices does it work on?
Any modern browser on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS 12 or higher. The capture runs on our servers, so a phone produces exactly the same image as a desktop.
Using it
It says "URL is not valid" — what does that mean?
The link in the box isn't a complete post URL. The safest fix is … → Copy link on the post itself, so it looks like https://facebook.com/…/posts/pfbid… — a page link, a feed link or a partial paste won't work. Post, video, photo, group-post and share links are all accepted, with or without a www.
Can I capture several posts at once?
Facebook Cyborg captures one post per run, so several posts means pasting each link in turn. There's no cap on how many you do — a day pass or a plan covers unlimited captures — but each one is its own paste.
It doesn't work for me — what now?
Check the URL is the full link to a single public post first. A friends-only post, a private group or a Story can't be captured, because Facebook doesn't show them publicly. If the post is public and it still fails, head to Support with the link you tried — we usually reply within a day.
When does the download link expire?
After 60 minutes. Save the image as soon as it's ready — after that the link expires and you'd run the capture again.

Do you track who captured which post?
No. The link you paste is never stored, so nothing here ties you to a particular post. You never sign in to Facebook, so your own account is never involved, and the poster isn't notified. Like any site, we do keep plain usage counts — which tool ran, whether it worked, and a visitor identifier derived from your IP address that is recomputed every day — but never the post you captured.
Can I publish the image I capture?
Facebook Cyborg doesn't grant you rights to someone else's post. The words and any photos in it still belong to their author, and Facebook's terms still apply — so credit the source, and get permission for commercial use.
Does the image look the same as the post?
It's the post itself, captured as Facebook renders it, not a redrawn copy — the page name, the date, the text, the picture and the reaction counts all appear as they do on the site. One thing to know: the comment thread is not included, so what you get is the post card on its own.
