Getting started
What is Insta Cyborg?
A web app that saves an Instagram post as an image. Paste the post's URL and it captures the post as Instagram shows it — the account, the picture, the like count and the caption line — as a PNG you can download and use anywhere. Nothing to install.
Can I save a private account or a Story?
No. Insta Cyborg only sees what Instagram serves publicly, so private accounts and Stories can't be saved — they aren't visible to anyone who isn't signed in and following. Public posts and reels both work.
Why is this better than a browser extension?
Three reasons: the tool does one thing, so the framing is right rather than approximate; it works on any device with a browser instead of only the desktop you installed the extension on; and it needs no permission to read the pages you visit.
Which devices does it work on?
Any modern browser on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS 12 or higher. The capture runs on our servers, so a phone produces exactly the same image as a desktop.
Using it
It says "URL is not valid" — what does that mean?
The link in the box isn't a complete link to a single post. The safest fix is … → Copy link on the post itself, so it looks like https://instagram.com/p/CxK9v2… — a profile link, a search result or a partial paste won't work. Post, reel and IGTV links are all accepted, with or without a www.
Can I save several posts at once?
Insta Cyborg saves one post per run, so several posts means pasting each link in turn. There's no cap on how many you do — a day pass or a plan covers unlimited saves — but each one is its own paste. A carousel is captured on the slide Instagram opens it at.
It doesn't work for me — what now?
Check the URL is the full link to a single public post first. A post from a private account can't be saved, because it isn't publicly visible. If the post is public and it still fails, try once more — occasionally Instagram is slow to send the picture and we'd rather return nothing than a card with a blank space where it goes. If it keeps failing, head to Support with the link you tried — we usually reply within a day.
When does the download link expire?
After 60 minutes. Save the image as soon as it's ready — after that the link expires and you'd run it again.

Do you track who saved which post?
No. The link you paste is never stored, so nothing here ties you to a particular post. The poster isn't notified either; there's no like, no follow, no view from you. Like any site, we do keep plain usage counts — which tool ran, whether it worked, and a visitor identifier derived from your IP address that is recomputed every day — but never the post you saved.
Can I publish the image I save?
Insta Cyborg doesn't grant you rights to someone else's photo. The picture still belongs to whoever made it, and Instagram's terms still apply — so credit the account, and get permission for commercial use.
Does the saved image look exactly like the post?
It's the post itself, captured as Instagram renders it, not a redrawn copy — the account name, the picture, the like count, the caption line and the timestamp all appear as they do on the site. Two things are worth knowing: the caption is shown the way Instagram shows it, so a long one ends in “… more”, and the comment thread is not included.
